Diagnopein BARIUM ADDITIONAL Centre in Karad
The Barium Additional test is a specialized diagnostic X-ray procedure that enhances the visualization of the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract using a contrast agent called barium sulfate. This white, chalky substance is swallowed or introduced into the digestive system, coating the lining of the esophagus, stomach, or intestines, making these structures clearly visible on X-ray images.
This test is typically performed when more detailed imaging is required following an initial barium swallow or meal test. It helps diagnose conditions such as swallowing difficulties, chronic acid reflux, ulcers, strictures, tumors, and other abnormalities affecting the digestive tract. The process involves drinking a barium mixture while X-ray images or fluoroscopy are taken in real-time to observe the movement and coating of the digestive tract.
